Gemeinsam füreinander da.
An older man pauses on his way home, setting down a grocery bag that has become too heavy to carry. An older woman sits alone with her cup of tea, wishing there were someone across the table to talk to. At Weiher, an elderly gentleman walks slowly with his stick. He has cancer and knows his time is limited. He hopes someone might stop for a conversation, simply to listen to the stories he still has to tell and share a little of the time he has left.
These scenes have stayed with me, and I felt the urge to do something about them. Every generation is shaped by the time it lives in, yet older people are too often left out as the world changes.
We’re missing a platform that brings younger and older generations together, where asking for help and offering it doesn’t have to be transactional. Human connection can be as simple as sharing our time and being kind, without expecting something in return.
Whether it’s shopping, cooking or simply spending time together, I want to make it easier for neighbours to be there for one another.
